Ashley McClain is an individual therapist who holds a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Maryland and a Licensed Graduate Social Worker in Washington, D.C. Ashley enjoys working with early childhood, elementary and middle school age children, and adults.
Since graduating with her masters in 2012, Ashley has worked at various agencies with a diverse population in areas of child welfare, homelessness, and school based mental health. In these settings Ashley has gained experience in trauma, behavior modification, and coping with mental health challenges.
Ashley practices from a strength-based perspective to provide her clients with a safe and supportive environment. Her work has been in the urban community and has equipped her with the ability to work with various populations. Ashley is also trained in Trauma, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Play therapy, and is currently working on a certificate in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. She utilizes CBT, Play, and Art strategies and other treatment models to enable her clients to gain coping skills and abilities to manage their mental health needs and live a healthy life.
